On 30 September, 2017, two of our board members, Monika and Martin, once again organised the public children’s festival “Knonau for Africa”.
In this way a huge THANK YOU again to all who made this children’s festival possible and have supported it! It was a great day and we were overwhelmed! We had so many nice big and small guests, so great volunteers, incredible artists on stage, many funny moments and beautiful encounters!
THANKS from the heart!
“Open day” in our reception centre in Mangueta – 2017
On 25 August, 2017, we celebrated an open day in Mangueta with many children and guests.
Invited were the local Child Protection Officers, government representatives, our partner organisations and other people who support the work of Mamadou & Bineta on site.
In addition to a tour of the infrastructure (including the newly opened sewing atelier), the children from the reception centre performed together with the street children of our partner organisation Tyabala Theater and the orphans from the home in Dubréka music, theater and dance for the guests.
Just as beautiful as this day was the preparation time for the children: for a week numerous children of Tyabala and Dubréka were our guests and have prepared for the open day together with the children of the reception centre.
We like to organise such events every now and then. Not only they delight the children, but they also help to sensitise the population for the protection of these children and the work of Mamadou & Bineta.

Children’s concert with Bruno Hächler – 2016
We were delighted that the community Aeugst am Albis has organised a charity children’s concert with the lovely Bruno Hächler and his great band on 16 April, 2016.
We would like to thank Sandra, Andi and Bruno for the wonderful concert. Big thanks, of course, to Peter and his helpers for the great organisation and, of course, to the small and big visitors, who thereby made a donation to Mamadou & Bineta. All proceeds will be used in full for projects of the association in Guinea, West Africa.

»Knonau for Africa« – 2015
On 19 September, 2015, Monika Henzler, resident of Knonau and a board member of Mamadou & Bineta, once again organised the public children’s festival »Knonau for Africa«.
Many artists, companies and individuals were willing to support the program free of charge. The proceeds were donated to Mamadou & Bineta and thus directly to Africa.
It was a wonderful day. We would like to thank the numerous helping hands, the visitors and the authorities in Knonau ZH for their solidarity, their energetic support and their generosity.
»Month of the Child«
The government, together with UNICEF and the relief agencies, has proclaimed June as the “month of the child”. It is a good opportunity to sensitise the population. Mamadou & Bineta has supported numerous events with educational work.
